PURPOSE

The winner of this Award will be, in the view of the judges, the most outstanding CIA member company of the year – demonstrating growth of its business and a sustained contribution to the UK economy.

ELIGIBILITY

The Award is open to any CIA member company.  Following initial judging, applicants will be notified if they have been short-listed by 1 May 2009. The winner will be announced at the Chemical Industry Awards Dinner on Thursday 25 June in Edinburgh. The winning company should be willing to participate in publicity.

CRITERIA

This is the pinnacle Award of the year and entering companies will have to demonstrate outstanding performance against the following criteria:

  • Proven excellence in a number of areas of performance (exemplified by the other 2009 Award categories) – reputation, innovation, supply chain excellence, skills etc.
  • Commitment to sustainable development Growth of the business
  • Sustained commitment to the UK economy, taking into account the prevailing economic climate
  • Excellence in attracting and retaining employees

In short the winning company will be the one others aspire to follow.

JUDGING

The judging panel will consist of the Sponsor, CIA Directors, and an independent expert.

CLOSING DATE

Entries to be made in confidence to Mike Lancaster on the Entry Form which will be available in December, signed by a member of the company leadership team, by Friday 27 March 2009.
